 Failure to acknowledge sin is deliberate betrayal and disloyalty To God, betrayal is the most devastating loss a person can experience.1John 3:4: The one who practices sin is of the devil. If people call themselves Christian, they are required to follow Christ and live as He did..1 John 2:6 He kept The Sabbath, God's food laws, God's appointed times, and all the commandments. This also is a Deliberate betrayal by living your lives opposite to Christ whom you claim to love.

1 John 3:4: The one who practices sin is of the devil

 “Sin is the transgression of the law that separates the sinner from God.

  1. Sin is what happens when you violate God's law;

  2. Transgression is the actual act of violating the law

  3. Iniquity is a wicked act and immoral conduct or practice. when you've engaged in sin by transgressing God's law

1 John 3:9   No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.

Key examples of betraying God:

  • Ignoring God's laws and choosing to practice sin: Engaging in actions considered morally wrong according to Scripture.

  • Hypocrisy: Presenting oneself as devout Christian while acting contrary to one's beliefs.

  • Putting worldly things first: Prioritizing material possessions, career success, or personal pleasure above spiritual growth.

  • Not actively practicing faith: Failing to regularly pray, study scripture, or observe the Sabbath.

  • Misinterpreting scripture: Twisting the meaning of religious texts to suit personal desires.

  • Failing to stand up for what is right: Not speaking out against injustice or immoral behavior when appropriate.

  • Lack of compassion and love: Not showing kindness and generosity towards others, which is a core tenet of most faiths.

  • Building "kingdoms" outside of God: Focusing on creating personal power or status rather than serving a higher purpose.
