As you read in the verses Paul makes it clear also, if you are led by the spirit you are not under the law, (Keeping this in mind sin is transgression of the law.) How You Get In vs. How You Walk Paul’s Focus: Paul was dealing with a massive crisis: institutional religious leaders were telling Gentile converts that they couldn't be saved unless they underwent ritual circumcision and converted to Judaism before trusting in Yeshua (Acts 15:1). Paul fought this fiercely. He argued that a person is justified (cleared of their past guilt) by faith in Yeshua's sacrifice, not by their own track record of keeping the law. You cannot earn your way out of past sins. Yeshua’s Focus: Yeshua was speaking to people who already knew the Torah but were faking it. He focused on how a saved person walks. Once you are in the covenant by faith, obedience is the fruit of your love for Him. B. "Works of the Law" vs. "The Commandments" When Paul uses the phrase "works of the law" (especially in Galatians and Romans), he isn't talking about God's Ten Commandments or the Sabbath. In the first-century Hebrew mind, "works of the law" (ma'asei ha-torah) referred to man-made religious decrees, traditional conversion rituals, and legalistic checklists used to separate Jews from Gentiles. Paul fought man-made legalism, but he loved God’s literal law. He explicitly wrote: "The law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good" (Romans 7:12). C. The Target: The Great Harlot's Loophole The institutional church system (the "Great Harlot") took Paul's complex arguments about Gentile inclusion and twisted them into a license for lawlessness . They used Paul to create a loophole to throw out the Sabbath, ignore the dietary laws, and abandon the appointed feasts—the exact opposite of how Yeshua lived. If Paul actually taught that the Sabbath was abolished or that God's food laws didn't matter, he would have been a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 13. But Paul defended himself against that exact accusation in a Roman court: "I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets." — Acts 24:14 The Verdict The difference is not that Yeshua said "Obey" and Paul said "Don't." The truth is that Yeshua is the Standard, and Paul is the Commentary. Yeshua showed us what the perfect walk looks like. Paul explained how the rest of the world (the Gentiles) could be grafted into that exact same olive tree through faith (Romans 11). If anyone interprets Paul in a way that contradicts the clear, commandment-keeping lifestyle of Yeshua, they are doing exactly what Peter warned against: twisting Paul’s words into the error of the lawless. In 2 Peter 3:15-16, Peter refers to Paul as a "beloved brother" who wrote with wisdom given to him. Ποιος είναι ο λόγος για τον ερχομό σας;” 22 Και είπαν: «Ο Κορνήλιος, ένας εκατόνταρχος, ένας άνθρωπος ευθύς και θεοσεβούμενος, για τον οποίο μιλάει καλά όλο το ιουδαϊκό έθνος, έλαβε εντολή από έναν άγιο άγγελο να σε στείλει να έρθεις στο σπίτι του και να ακούσει τι έχεις. να πω." 23 Έτσι τους κάλεσε να είναι καλεσμένοι του. Τότε ρωτάω γιατί με έστειλες». 30 Και ο Κορνήλιος είπε: «Πριν από τέσσερις μέρες, περίπου αυτή την ώρα, προσευχόμουν στο σπίτι μου την ένατη ώρα,ρε και ιδού, ένας άντρας στάθηκε μπροστά μου με φωτεινά ρούχα 31 και είπε: «Κορνήλιε, η προσευχή σου εισακούστηκε και η ελεημοσύνη σου θυμήθηκε ενώπιον του Θεού. 32 Στείλτε λοιπόν στην Ιόππη και ζητήστε τον Σίμωνα που λέγεται Πέτρος. Διαμένει στο σπίτι του Simon, ενός βυρσοδέψης, δίπλα στη θάλασσα.' 33 Έτσι έστειλα να σε βρουν αμέσως, και είχες την καλοσύνη να έρθεις. Τώρα, λοιπόν, είμαστε όλοι εδώ στην παρουσία του Θεού για να ακούσουμε όλα όσα σας έχει προστάξει ο Κύριος». Το Άγιο Πνεύμα πέφτει στους Εθνικούς 44 Ενώ ο Πέτρος έλεγε ακόμη αυτά τα πράγματα, το Άγιο Πνεύμα έπεσε πάνω σε όλους όσοι άκουγαν τη λέξη. 45 Και οι πιστοί από τους περιτομείς που είχαν έρθει με τον Πέτρο έμειναν έκπληκτοι επειδή το δώρο του Αγίου Πνεύματος ξεχύθηκε ακόμη και στους Εθνικούς. 46 Γιατί τους άκουγαν να μιλούν σε γλώσσες και να επαινούν τον Θεό. Τότε ο Πέτρος δήλωσε, 47 «Μπορεί κανείς να κρατήσει νερό για να βαφτίσει αυτούς τους ανθρώπους, που έχουν λάβει το Άγιο Πνεύμα όπως κι εμείς;» 48 Και τους πρόσταξε να βαπτιστούν στο όνομα του Ιησού Χριστού. Τότε του ζήτησαν να μείνει για μερικές μέρες. Μαζί μου πήγαν και αυτά τα έξι αδέρφια, και μπήκαμε στο σπίτι του άντρα. 13 Μας είπε πώς είχε δει έναν άγγελο να εμφανίζεται στο σπίτι του και να λέει: «Στείλτε στην Ιόππη για τον Σίμωνα που λέγεται Πέτρος. 14 Θα σου φέρει ένα μήνυμα μέσω του οποίου εσύ και όλο το σπιτικό σου θα σωθείς». 15 «Καθώς άρχισα να μιλάω, το Άγιο Πνεύμα ήρθε πάνω τους όπως είχε έρθει πάνω μας στην αρχή. 16 Τότε θυμήθηκα αυτό που είχε πει ο Κύριος: «Ο Ιωάννης βάφτισε με[ένα ] νερό, αλλά θα βαφτιστείτε με[σι ] το Άγιο Πνεύμα». 17 Αν λοιπόν ο Θεός τους έδωσε το ίδιο δώρο που έδωσε σε εμάς που πιστεύαμε στον Κύριο Ιησού Χριστό, ποιος ήμουν εγώ που θα σκεφτόμουν ότι θα μπορούσα να σταθώ εμπόδιο στο δρόμο του Θεού;» 18 Όταν το άκουσαν αυτό, δεν είχαν άλλες αντιρρήσεις και δόξασαν τον Θεό, λέγοντας: «Έτσι λοιπόν και στους εθνικούς ο Θεός έδωσε μετάνοια που οδηγεί στη ζωή». Εκκλησία στην Αντιόχεια 19 Και εκείνοι που είχαν διασκορπιστεί από τον διωγμό που ξέσπασε όταν σκοτώθηκε ο Στέφανος ταξίδεψαν μέχρι τη Φοινίκη, την Κύπρο και την Αντιόχεια, διαδίδοντας τη λέξη μόνο στους Ιουδαίους. 20 Μερικοί όμως από αυτούς, άνδρες από την Κύπρο και την Κυρήνη, πήγαν στην Αντιόχεια και άρχισαν να μιλούν και σε Έλληνες, λέγοντάς τους τα καλά νέα για τον Κύριο Ιησού. 21 Το χέρι του Κυρίου ήταν μαζί τους, και πολύς κόσμος πίστεψε και στράφηκε στον Κύριο. 22 Τα νέα αυτά έφτασαν στην εκκλησία της Ιερουσαλήμ και έστειλαν τον Βαρνάβα στην Αντιόχεια. 23 Όταν έφτασε και είδε τι είχε κάνει η χάρη του Θεού, χάρηκε και τους παρότρυνε όλους να παραμείνουν πιστοί στον Κύριο με όλη τους την καρδιά. 24 Ήταν καλός άνθρωπος, γεμάτος Άγιο Πνεύμα και πίστη, και πολύς κόσμος προσήχθη στον Κύριο. 25 Τότε ο Βαρνάβας πήγε στην Ταρσό να αναζητήσει τον Σαούλ, 26 και όταν τον βρήκε, τον έφερε στην Αντιόχεια. Έτσι, για έναν ολόκληρο χρόνο ο Βαρνάβας και ο Σαούλ συναντήθηκαν με την εκκλησία και δίδαξαν μεγάλο αριθμό ανθρώπων. Οι μαθητές ονομάστηκαν Χριστιανοί πρώτα στην Αντιόχεια. 27 Σε αυτό το διάστημα μερικοί προφήτες κατέβηκαν από την Ιερουσαλήμ στην Αντιόχεια. 28 Ένας από αυτούς, ονόματι Άγαβος, σηκώθηκε και μέσω του Πνεύματος προέβλεψε ότι θα εξαπλωθεί σοβαρός λιμός σε ολόκληρο τον ρωμαϊκό κόσμο. (Γιορτή του Ταμούζ) Ο ΙΕΧΩΒΑ Θεός διατάζει τον λαό Του να Τον ακολουθήσει -- όχι τις παραδόσεις των ανθρώπων. Οι δρόμοι του ΙΕΧΩΒΑ είναι υψηλότεροι, καλύτεροι από τους ανθρώπους (Ησαΐας 55:8-9).Οι άνθρωποι δεν μπορούν να προσδιορίσουν μόνοι τους το σωστό από το λάθος ή πώς να λατρεύουν σωστά τον ΙΕΧΩΒΑ Θεό. Γιατί; Διότι «η καρδιά [η διάνοια] είναι δόλια πάνω από όλα, και απελπισμένα πονηρή» (Ιερεμίας 17:9), και «η οδός του ανθρώπου δεν είναι μέσα του. Δεν είναι στον άνθρωπο που περπατά να κατευθύνει τα βήματά του» (10:23). Ο ΙΕΧΩΒΑ Θεός μας σχεδίασε και μας έδωσε ζωή. Ξέρει πώς πρέπει να Τον λατρεύουμε. Για να είσαι Χριστιανός και να υπηρετείς σωστά τον ΙΕΧΩΒΑ Θεό, πρέπει να ζεις «με κάθε λόγο που βγαίνει από το στόμα του Θεού» (Ματθαίος 4:4), αναγνωρίζοντας ότι οι άγιες Γραφές Του «δεν μπορούν να σπάσουν» (Ιωάννης 10:35).
